At Schwarzer Adler, winter starts right on our doorstep. The toboggan run, the ski school and the valley station of the cable car are only a few minutes’ walk away. You can relax and use the ski rental and ski depot directly at the ski lift. And after so much exercise in the fresh air, you can enjoy a heavenly sauna session with our sauna attendant.
The real paradise for fans of deep powder snow is off the slopes. After a short ascent, you are usually already at the beginning of a deep snow downhill run. There are more than 200 km of such downhill runs at the Arlberg – more than almost anywhere else in the Alps. St. Anton therefore is the Mecca for every freerider and those who want to become one. However, you need experience, skills and the correct handling of saftey equipment, for the perfect day off-slope skiing.
It only takes a few minutes to comfortably stroll into the valley and jump right into fun.
You can also rent your sports equipment easily and comfortably from home and enjoy many advantages:
Just select “Galzigbahn – Bergschlössl” as location. Here, we also have our free-of-charge ski depot where you can store your equipment safely. If you bring your own equipment, we will be happy to provide you with a ski depot as well.
The summits are impressive and so are the cable cars at the Arlberg. 88 ultra-modern cable cars offer the highest standards of safety and convenience. Another trendsetter is the ARLBERG CARD, the reusable high-tech ski pass which opens ski lift access without contact. And the best thing is: You can buy the ski pass directly at Hotel Schwarzer Adler, without any annoying queues.
Winter sports and après-ski fun! While some seek absolute silence during a ski tour, others make a stop for après-ski. You might also want to go on a toboggan ride at night with typically Tyrolean Kässpätzle (spätzle with cheese) on the alp? Winter holidays in St. Anton are as individual as you are. And since St. Anton is one of the Alpine regions with the highest snow guarantee, you can relax and book right now!
Experience the absolute dream of all skiing fans! The construction of the Flexenbahn cable car has made skiing at the Arlberg even more breath-taking. Through the connection between Zürs and Alpe Rauz, skiers can easily reach all towns at the Arlberg on their skis! This makes the Arlberg region the largest connected skiing area in Austria! There is even more news: The Trittkopfbahn I cable car goes from Zürs to the new intermediate station and from there either to the new mountain station with the Trittkopfbahn II cable car or to Stuben with the Flexenbahn cable car. In Stuben, the new Albonabahn II cable car waits for you to continue your journey. 88 ultra-modern lifts, 350 km of down-hill ski runs, 300 km of deep snow runs. An incredible dimension of skiing pleasure!
Tobogganing
Cross-country skiing
Whoo! Past the rustic Rodelalm inn and rapidly on and on, always through the forest, to the Rodelstall inn. The illuminated natural toboggan ride with a length of 4 km leads from Gampen Pass into the valley to Nasserein. The run is 15 minutes and there is a difference in altitude of 500 m. No matter whether you experience the run during the day or with floodlight at night – winter fun is guaranteed!
St. Anton offers an excellent and perfectly developed network of trails for cross-country skiers. Every guest will find their favourite track on 40 km. Both comfortable and sporty routes exist and, therefore, a lot of variety. The trails have been awarded the Quality Seal by the Province of Tyrol. This means high snow guarantee, good signposting of the routes, and a large number of cross-country trails with different degrees of difficulty and lengths. Moreover, you can book specifically trained cross-country ski instructors at Arlberg Ski School. What are you waiting for?
